Belleville, IL, October 7, 2010. Mathis, Marifian, Richter Ltd. (MM&R) today announced that two of its attorneys recently led presentations to area groups.
Kevin J. Stine, a shareholder in Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd., spoke at the Commercial Real Estate Forum sponsored by Johnson Properties, Inc., held at the Sheraton Four Points Conference Center at the Fountains on September 21, 2010. Mr. Stine's presentation focused on commercial foreclosure statistics, receivership in foreclosure cases and alternatives to foreclosures. Mr. Stine has been representing lenders in commercial foreclosures, litigation matters and bankruptcy cases in Southern Illinois for more than 20 years. He is a member and former chairman of the Illinois State Bar Association's Commercial, Banking & Bankruptcy Section Council, and is an associate member of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois and the Illinois Bankers Association.
Lorraine K. Cavataio, also a shareholder of the firm, spoke in September at the Illinois Institute of Continuing Education (IICLE) "Starting Points: Fundamentals of Will Drafting" seminars in Springfield and Chicago. Cavataio lectured on drafting wills and trusts. Cavataio has more than 15 years' experience in representing a wide range of clients in matters involving mergers and acquisitions, tax objections, commercial and residential leasing, trusts and wills, estate and trust administration and tortious interference. Cavataio's experience in the estate planning practice has made her a well-respected informational lecturer, and she has been invited to various seminars to speak on several different topics pertaining to estate planning. She has also authored chapters for IICLE in the area of estate administration.
