MMR&G’s Mathis Named to Illinois Super Lawyers’ 2008 List

Belleville, IL, Oct. 2, 2008. Patrick B. Mathis, a shareholder with Belleville, Illinois-based Mathis, Marifian, Richter & Grandy, Ltd. (MMR&G), was recently named to Illinois Super Lawyers magazine's list of top lawyers for 2008. Mathis, who is among only 5 percent of Illinois lawyers to achieve this honor, was recognized in the tax litigation category for the fourth consecutive year.
Mathis, who helped form MMR&G in 1984, has nearly 30 years' experience in business law, banking, estate planning and taxation. He represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service in the areas of audits, appeals and Tax Court litigation. He has written several definitive articles on various aspects of each of these practice areas and has conducted numerous seminars and educational programs for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
