Wohltman Receives Rising Star Award from McKendree University

Rebecca Wohltman, an associate at Mathis, Marifian and Richter, Ltd., received a Rising Star Award from McKendree University at an Alumni Awards Dinner in October. Rising Star Awards are presented to alumni who have made significant achievements in their professions, and have demonstrated a high level of involvement in McKendree and in their respective communities.
Wohltman, of Belleville, Ill., graduated from McKendree in 2009 with degrees in accounting and political science. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2012, where she received academic awards for highest grades in Criminal Law and Banking Regulation. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and specializes in business transactions, estate planning, corporate law, criminal tax, taxation and litigation. She is a member of the Missouri State, Illinois State and St. Clair County Bar Associations.
During her undergraduate education at McKendree, Wohltman was a campus leader involved in debate, bowling, Model U.N., New Student Orientation, and a member of several organizations, committees and honor societies. She continues to stay active in the university as a donor, a judge for debate tournaments, member of the Homecoming Committee, member of the William McKendree Society Cornerstone Circle and a participant in McKendree 5K road races.
Wohltman is also active in the Belleville community as a member of Zion Lutheran School Board, Zion Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Belleville Running Club and Belleville Marathon Committee.
